Gina Tapella graduated from Loyola University of Chicago with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Cultural Anthropology and from Aurora University with a Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Illinois and member of the National Association of Social Workers. Gina has over 20 year’s experience in the therapeutic, medical, and social service settings; including outpatient mental health treatment, health coaching, and working with adult individual, family, and marital issues.

Gina specializes in individual therapy with adults dealing with mood disorders, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, family issues, work-life issues, communication problems, anger and stress management, life transitions, and relationship issues.

Gina's counseling style is open and collaborative with her patients to develop a personalized treatment plan, set goals, and work toward solutions. She believes in treating everyone with respect and compassion while providing a safe place to work through their issues.

Gina works primarily from a holistic approach, recognizing that our mind, body, and environment are intricately connected. Gina utilizes Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), Psycho-Dynamic Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) along with Motivational Interviewing and Mindfulness Techniques.
